The road they have lived and the road they will live, they run together. Carrying their lives, the taxi begins to drive, a story of miracles and hope that brightly illuminates tomorrow, and warm tears overflow at the miracle waiting at the end of the journey. Koji Usami, a taxi driver who works every day without rest, is troubled by the constant financial pressures of his daughter's school entrance fees, vehicle inspection costs, and housing renewal fees. One day, he receives a request to drive 85 year old Madame Sumire Takano from Shibamata, Tokyo to a senior care facility in Hayama, Kanagawa. At first the two are unfriendly toward each other, but as Sumire gradually opens her heart, she asks Koji to make several stops, saying she has a few places she would like to visit before her final farewell to Tokyo. As they travel around various places in Tokyo, Sumire begins to speak about her turbulent past. What begins as a one day journey eventually moves their hearts and greatly changes their lives.
