Directed by Shohei Imamura, the acclaimed director of "Kuroi Ame/Black Rain" and "Unagi." Set in an indeterminate past, it tells a story of a small Japanese village where law dictates that those who turn 70 must go up a certain mountain where they must await their death. It's awful I know but it was age 30 in Logan's Run, so it's not all rosey in the future either... Special feature: still gallery. Pictured label.
