In addition to the latest remaster of every track on the album, faithfully remastered from the vintage UK original MONO master, it includes related songs, session material, and outtakes. During recording sessions at RCA Studios in the fall of 1965, on their fourth US tour, about ten original songs were born. An album was quickly announced under the title "Could You Walk On The Water?", but the title caused controversy and the album went unreleased. The band then recorded "Under My Thumb," "Lady Jane," "Paint It, Black," and "Out of Time" the following March, completing the album "Aftermath". With back-to-back hits in "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and "Get Off of My Cloud," the Stones became the British band second only to the Beatles, and this was the first album they filled entirely with original songs. Brian, the band's founding leader, played a variety of instruments, including sitar and marimba, adding color to Jagger and Richards' songs. It became the foundation on which the mid-period Stones sound would later blossom. In particular, the UK original edition, containing all 14 tracks, became an unprecedented 53-minute-long album. However, it was released two months earlier than the US edition, and the true original UK version was discontinued when the 1997 ABKCO remaster became the worldwide standard release, an unlucky fate.
