The live action series is based on the work by the legendary Manga artist and anime creator Osamu Tezuka. Tezuka was also a medical doctor and the series features a hero who is a rogue doctor and an exceptional surgeon. The show stars a stellar cast that includes Masahiro Motoki, Yasuko Matsuyuki (as another brilliant surgeon), et al.
