Its simultaneous two-player mode featured head-to-head communication play, unfolding heated neck-and-neck races. To commemorate the 35th anniversary of that arcade version, Sega Music Co., Ltd. will release the celebration CD "GP Rider - 35th Anniv. Album -" on July 30, 2026 (Thu). The track list includes 14 tracks from the 1990 arcade version created by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, Hiro, Yasuhiro Takagi and other creators who have long supported the Sega sound; 6 tracks from the overseas Master System port released in 1993 (never released in Japan); and 10 tracks from the Game Gear port released in 1994, each newly recorded from the actual hardware. This is the first time the sound sources from the overseas Master System port and the Game Gear port have been commercialized. In addition, the album includes 4 arranged-version tracks created specifically for it, for a total of 34 tracks.
