Pink Floyd "Meddle" 180g Vinyl With Japan-Exclusive Obi

Pink Floyd's sixth studio album, "Meddle," first appeared in November 1971, following the band's first performances in Japan at Hakone Aphrodite that August. This 55th anniversary release is pressed on 180g San Tropez Orange Marble Vinyl. The album's lyrical sound has remained especially popular among Japanese listeners.

"Echoes," occupying the entirety of Side B, was also performed at Hakone Aphrodite. Mist enveloped the venue during the performance, blending with the surrounding natural scenery and creating a concert moment still remembered today.

Side A includes the concert favorite "One of These Days," the pastoral "A Pillow of Winds," the quietly uplifting "Fearless," the light, jazz-influenced "San Tropez," and the humorous "Seamus."

Further developing the lyrical and experimental direction of the preceding album "Atom Heart Mother," "Meddle" helped establish Pink Floyd's musical approach leading toward "The Dark Side of the Moon." Hipgnosis created the artwork, depicting a human ear underwater with ripples spreading across the surface to symbolize the expansion of sound.
