I was glad to see CDJapan offer this P-8 Chikuhodo brush. It is a brush connoisseur's brush and certainly an investment piece. The longer squirrel hairs have a lot of bend and give to them, making the brush quite airy. I use it for a finishing brush and it does not move the makeup that I have in place at all. Just blurs and blends everything together with that final touch. Such a pleasure to work with since it does not tug on any part of my face. I have learned that a light gentle touch is best when it comes to your face and hard, scratchy brushes just don't do a good job blending or treating your skin gently! This beautiful Chikuhodo brush up look like the brush of all brushes. It is big but oh so soft and so I call it my gentle giant. I use this to finish and set my makeup, effectively covering every area giving me an even all over finish. I keep it out so I can reach for it everyday. I love it. I would recommend this to all the Japanese brush lovers who want to be pampered by their brushes.
This brush features a luxuriously bundling of long grey squirrel hair. It is a very large head, so while precise use of the brush is not possibly, it dispenses and applies finishing powders and light dusting of bronzer really well. It has a matching wooden holder that makes it easy to display proudly on my vanity table. It is fairly loose (not dense), and the hairs are incredibly soft and gentle. This will suit even the most sensitive of skins.
