The Killer Inside Me

[Machine Translation] Sundance Film Festival was in an uproar. A problematic film that depicts the darkness of the human mind. Master filmmaker Michael Winterbottom was so amazed by Jim Thompson's crime novel "The Killer in Me," the acclaimed noir writer of the accursed and unorthodox genre, that he acquired the rights to adapt it for the screen. With the participation of Casey Affleck, a talented young actor who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for "The Assassination of Jesse James," and Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson, the film brings to the screen the intense love and madness of this forbidden, dark novel. --The film is about Lou Ford, a small-town sheriff's assistant, a young man with a reputation for being soft-spoken and affable. He is also in love with Amy, the most beautiful teacher in town, whom he has been with for many years. One day, however, a violent sexual encounter with Joyce, a prostitute he met as part of a law enforcement operation, awakens nightmarish urges that have been dormant for 20 years. With his past vengeance intertwined, Lou is now involved in a series of mysterious incidents. Lou's distorted self-destruction begins now, as he is cornered by an investigative team that has prepared an unexpected trump card...
