When torn between duty and love, which will you choose? JinRoh, despite having heavy action, is very much a war romance film more than anything else. It follows a special forces soldier, Kuse, and the events following the death of a terrorist girl whom he had refused to kill, yet still feels responsible for her suicide death. Enter another girl who looks almost exactly like the deceased who claims to be the girl's sister, and the two quickly find themselves at ease with each other. Fate, however, is unkind, and Kuse is torn between having to choose life with his beloved, who is also a convisted terrorist, and serving his duty as a special forces soldier, where he belongs. JinRoh is arguably one of the finest anime movies from Production IG, and in my opinion, the finest anime movie I have ever watched. Everything, from artwork to music, directing to character development, is near flawless. There is no exaggeration in the story, and every plot detail makes perfect sense and integrates itself smoothly with the storyline. It is not gripping, yet manages to pull you into the deep and absorbing story. Highly recommended to romantists and those looking for a more mature genre.
