[Machine Translation] This is a documentary film about Nobuyoshi Kikuchi, a master of the book design world who has created bindings for more than 15,000 books, and has been following him for three years with his own camera. --When you pick up a new book on the shelves at a bookstore, it is not necessarily a book by your favorite author. What is it that "moves you" when you pick up a new book in a bookstore that is not necessarily by your favorite author? What is it that "moves" you? It might be the binding of the book. Nobuyoshi Kikuchi. He is a rare binding artist who has been leading the Japanese book design world for more than 40 years, having designed more than 15,000 books, including the unprecedented bestseller "Salad Memorial Day" by Machi Tawara, Kenzaburo Oe, Yukichi Furui, Jiro Asada, Keiichiro Hirano, and Hitomi Kanehara. This is probably the world's first book design documentary that looks at "making a book" through the work of Kikuchi, whose beautiful and stimulating books have attracted many readers and are loved by many authors. Directed by Nanako Hirose, an up-and-coming filmmaker who made her impressive debut with "Dawn" and is a member of the film creator group Bumpuku, led by Hirokazu Kore-eda and Miwa Nishikawa. This exhibition explores the origins of monozukuri, carefully describing the process from the fingertips of designing each book by hand to the printing and binding of the book. Today, the environment surrounding books is undergoing rapid changes, and values are being rewritten. This film, which unravels the secrets of Kikuchi's creation and follows the passion and wisdom of the people who make books, is an adventure in discovering new possibilities for the expression of books. Special three-sided case.
