The Road

[Machine Translation] Father and son travel to the "end of the world". The father was everything to the son, and the son was everything to the father... Viggo Mortensen stars in this faithful adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Cormac McCarthy! Everyone's soul will be shaken by the trajectory of the deep bond and love between father and son depicted in a hopeless world. It has been more than 10 years since we lost civilization. The reason is not clear. The sun is not visible, the weather is getting colder, and animals and plants are dying one after another. The few human survivors have no other means of survival than to find preserved food. Otherwise, they will starve to death, commit suicide, or become prey to those who have lost their reason. Father and son continue to walk southward along such a desolate roadless path to escape the cold. Along the way, the father tells his young son stories about the world of yesteryear and its moral values. He is not sure if his son, who only knows the world as it is today, understands, but he tries to help others and be a good person, even in the face of extreme cold and hunger. The father tries to protect his angelic son from the miserable reality. The son asks his father, "What would you do if I died? The father replies that if you die, he will die too. The father replies that if you die, he will die too, so that they can be together. Still, father and son travel to the "end of the world. With the last fire of humanity, they continue south on the road of despair.
