Description

[Machine Translation] Sonny Rollins, considered by many to be the greatest improviser in jazz history, performed in New York and Tokyo in 1986. This is a masterpiece live film of his peak performance! The first half is an aggressive jazz live performance outdoors in New York City on August 16, 1986. He performed his signature tunes and his free blowing, which is one of his signatures, explodes! The second half is a world premiere session concert with an orchestra recorded in Tokyo, Japan on April 18, 1986. The tenor saxophone and orchestra envelop you in a dense and magnificent sound universe. Also included are interviews with Rollins in New York and Asakusa, Tokyo, where he talks in detail about his past activities and the performances recorded on this album, as well as close-up footage of Rollins in the studio writing songs, making this a truly comprehensive work! This is the first DVD release.
