奇跡の天才作曲家・佐村河内守の委嘱作「祈り」 世界初演をライヴ収録! TKWOに新しい地平を拓く飯森のタクト。交響曲第1番「HIROSHIMA」(COCQ-84901)が、クラシックCDとしては異例の大ヒット。また、ヴァイオリン・ソロのためのシャコンヌや弦楽四重奏曲 (COCQ-84928)が、映画「春、ふたたびの加奈子」のサウンドトラックとして使用されたりと、今やクラシック音楽界の時の人となっている佐村河内守 (さむらごうち・まもる)が、東京佼成ウインドオーケストラに委嘱されて作曲した新作「祈り」の初演のライヴ音源が収録されています。「現代のベートーヴェン」と称される佐村河内らしく、8分ほどの小品ながら、「暗から明へ」という曲づくりは「祈り」でも健在。静かに沸き起こってくる祈りの歌が、苦闘の末に、豪壮な勝利の凱歌とともに感動の大団円を迎える。今後ブラスバンドの定番曲となることを予感させる名曲。その他には、ホルストの名曲「吹奏楽のための第2組曲」、吹奏楽コンクールの定番曲であるレスピーギの「シバの女王ベルキス」といったファン注目の作品を収録。TKWOは、指揮者の飯森範親とは初顔合わせ。ドイツのヴュテンベルク・フィルや山形交響楽団の音楽監督を歴任してきた飯森は、とっておきの十八番であるストラヴィンスキーの「火の鳥」披露し、詰めかけた吹奏楽ファンを唸らせた。2012年12月1日 東京オペラシティコンサートホール・タケミツメモリアムでのライヴ収録。
