2003年に発売し、好セールスを記録したDVD-BOX「小津安二郎」から第一、第二集の傑作を単品リリース!! 本作は、人生の真実にさりげなく触れる小津安二郎晩年の成熟したドラマ「秋日和」。 ――麻布の寺で、三輪の七回忌の法要が行われた。三輪の学生時代の友人間宮、田口、平山の三人が久しぶりに集まる。彼らは三輪の娘アヤ子に縁談を勧めるが、笑ってごまかされてしまう。実はアヤ子は、結婚すると母秋子が一人になるのを気遣っていたのだった。間宮と田口は、秋子が再婚すれば、アヤ子も結婚を決心するだろうと秋子と平山の再婚を画策するのだが、話はこじれていく・・・。
