A funny comedy with laughter and tears. --A cameraman of a pink film, Odabe ( Toshiyuki Nishida ) a.k.a. Beyan, is in a bind when his wife Natsuko ( Michiyo Okusu ), the lead actress, attempts suicide and filming is halted. He forces the cleaning lady, Shoko ( Jun Miho ), of the inn he happened to rent as a location for the filming, to be the understudy of the lead actress, and the filming continues. However, the director ( Takeshi Kato ) is hospitalized with asthma. The filming continues without a director, but Laughko says she will stop filming because she is going back to her hometown to visit her grave. Taking advantage of her homecoming, the film crew decides to shoot on location in her hometown of Yumoto, Fukushima, and sets out on a "Japan traversing location shoot" in high spirits. The film crew overcame many hardships and changed the script on the spot as they went along.

[あの頃映画 松竹DVDコレクション] シリーズ第4弾 待望の初DVD化。ピンク映画に人生を賭けた、男の恋と友情と夢ーー。おかしな集団! 愉快な仲間! それでもキャメラは回り続ける。笑いと涙のハチャメチャ喜劇。――ピンク映画のカメラマンである小田辺(西田敏行)通称べーやんは、妻で主演女優の奈津子(大楠道代)が自殺未遂を起こし、撮影がストップし困りはてていた。たまたまロケ現場として借りた連れ込み宿の掃除婦笑子(美保純)を強引に主演女優の代役にしたて撮影を続行させる。しかし監督(加藤武)はぜん息で入院。監督無しで撮影を続けるが、笑子は自分の田舎に墓参りに帰るので撮影は降りると言い出す。笑子の帰郷を逆手にとり、ロケ場所を笑子の故郷である福島の湯本に代え「日本縦断大ロケーションといこう」とスタッフははりきった。数々の苦難を臨機応変に乗り越え、その場その場で脚本を変えながら撮影は続いていくが・・・。
