"The Curse" is an innovative yet classical traumatic horror film that crosses the boundary between digital and analog, as the "paper doll curse" spreads through social media. A creepy "woman in red" appearing on social media and messages cursing someone. Once someone notices "it," the "woman in red" appears before their eyes, and they meet a strange and mysterious death. Riko, the protagonist who becomes caught up in the curse after her friend's death, heads to Taiwan, said to be the source of this "curse," and approaches someone who curses people with paper dolls. However, beyond that lies an unimaginable "darkness"... Directed by Kenichi Ugana, who has received high praise from international film festivals such as Fantastic Fest and the Toronto International Film Festival. The skilled team behind the Taiwanese horror film "Incantation" handled the extreme horror visuals and ominous location art created by Taiwan's traditional "cursed paper dolls." The lead role is played by Yukino Kaizu, who has appeared in the taiga drama "Dear Radiance" and the Netflix drama "Tokyo Swindlers." YU, a singer-songwriter of Taiwanese and Japanese heritage, plays her ex-lover who joins her in pursuing the true nature of the curse. A unique cast also comes together, including talented Taiwanese actress Fan Rui-Jun and popular young actress Lin Suting.
