Description

[Machine Translation] [In memory of Shinichi Chiba] Following "Hattori Hanzo: Shadow Army" (1980) and "Shadow Army II" (1981), this is the third installment of the popular period drama series broadcast in 1982. This is the only film in which the golden members of JAC (now JAE) such as Etsuko Shihomi, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Teruki Kurosaki, led by Shinichi Chiba, who has played the lead role three times, all appeared regularly in the roles of the military commanders. Eitaro Ozawa plays the role of Mitsusada Tokugawa, the man who is trying to take the shogun's place, and Kyoko Kishida plays the wife of the former shogun, Iemitsu Tokugawa, who is trying to prevent him from becoming shogun. [追悼・千葉真一] 『服部半蔵影の軍団』(80年)、『影の軍団II』(81年)に続き、1982年に放送された人気時代劇シリーズ第3弾。三度、主演を務める千葉真一を筆頭に、志穂美悦子、真田広之、黒崎輝といったJAC(現:JAE)黄金メンバーが揃って軍団員役でレギュラー出演した唯一の作品。将軍の座を狙う徳川光貞に小沢栄太郎、これを阻止せんとする前将軍・徳川家光の正室に岸田今日子が扮するほか、若山富三郎、夏木(夏八木)勲、天知茂らをはじめとする豪華スターたちが各話にゲスト出演。見応えのある芝居と殺陣を披露している。オープニング&エンディング曲はいずれも真田広之が担当。エンディング曲「砂漠の都会(まち)に」は吉田拓郎が作曲を手がけている。――時は四代将軍・徳川家綱の治世。紀州藩主・徳川光貞が将軍職を狙って暗躍していた。前将軍・家光の正室だった本理院孝子は光貞によって命を狙われたため、出家して「千愁尼」と名を変え、伊賀の上忍・多羅尾半蔵とその配下を雇う。こうして半蔵たち「影の軍団」の活躍が始まった。
