zk / Zuno Keisatsu 50 Mirai e no Kodo

[Machine Translation] In December 1969, Haruo Nakamura (PANTA) and Toshiaki Ishizuka (TOSHI) formed "Zuno Keisatsu" (Brain Police). Later to be called the originators of Japanese-language rock, they gained overwhelming support from the young people who joined the movement with their radical lyrics and free melodies amidst the intensifying anti-war and anti-establishment movements. The "World Revolution Declaration," "Take Up Your Guns," and "Poem of a Red Army Soldier," later called the "Revolutionary Trilogy," were enjoyed as "poems" that resonated with the feelings of young people oppressed by the depressive social climate. However, they soon began to search for a more pure form of music. In order to pursue the music they really wanted to play, they were hampered by the status quo of popular support. In 1975, they walked off the stage with the overwhelming support of the public. PANTA and TOSHI, who were released from the "Zuno Keisatsu," went their own ways, and since then, they have repeatedly left the group, and each time, the "Zuno Keisatsu" has continued to evolve as well. Time has passed, and in 2019, " Zuno Keisatsu " will start up again with new blood! Together with young musicians Ryuji Sawa (Black Cat Chelsea) on guitar, Gaku Miyata (Black Cat Chelsea) on bass, Sonosuke Higuchi on drums, and Kei Okubo (Urbangarde) on keyboards, " Zuno Keisatsu " 50th Anniversary Band was formed. This documentary work brings the history of counterculture and subculture in Japan into relief by tracing the present and past of this band, which continues to maintain its unchanging enthusiasm, with testimonies from those who have lived through the same era as "Zuno Keisatsu" and those who have followed in their footsteps, and from all generations of artists. What kind of answer will "Zuno Keisatsu" give to the Japanese culture scene, which is currently reeling from the Corona disaster? With PANTA, TOSHI, and new strong members, "Zuno Keisatsu" will surely give us the power to survive in this era.
