円熟のピアニズムと音楽性で奏でられ、第70回文化庁芸術祭優秀賞、第53回レコード・アカデミー賞を受賞した"シューベルトピアノ作品集 6"(FOCD-9670/1)に続く最新盤。今回は、小曲の堆積によって宇宙を形成する、ショパン・シューマンの代表作2曲を収録。ファツィオリの〈歌う音色〉を駆使して、ロマン派ピアノ音楽の精髄を極めます。"シューマニアーナ 1"以来、四半世紀ぶりとなる「クライスレリアーナ」再録音は、30年に及ぶ共同作業を続けた名調律師川真田豊文氏(1942-2015)との最後のレコーディングとなりました。
