Description

Blu-ray release of the film "Enishi: The Bride of Izumo" starring Nozomi Sasaki. The story is set in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. Plot: Maki Iizuka who works as an editor in Tokyo, is set to marry next month. Meanwhile, her grandmother living with Maki dies. While Maki arranges items left by her grandmother, she finds a box made from empress tree. The box contains a white bridal Kimono and a bunch of marriage registration forms. The marriage registration forms are mostly empty, except for the name "Soichi Akiguni" on a part which is assigned to be the name of husband. To place her grandmother's ashes in a tomb and notice "Soichi Akiguni" about her die, Maki goes to her hometown Izumo in Shimane Prefecture. There, she meets a young fisherman and tries to find the man together.

世界を魅了する、日本の美のルーツがここに! 神話の国・出雲を舞台に紡がれるひとびとを結ぶ〈縁〉の物語。 ――東京都内の出版社に勤務する飯塚真紀(29)は大手建設会社勤務のエリート・中村和典(30)との結婚式を控えていた。そんな頃、同居する祖母のあきゑが亡くなる。あきゑの遺品を整理した真紀は、桐の箱に納められた白無垢と婚姻届の束を見つける。婚姻届の夫の欄には「秋国宗一」と書かれ、他は空欄となっていた。祖母の納骨のため、真紀は生まれ故郷の出雲へ向かう。そして祖母の死を伝えるため、婚姻届の住所を訪ねた。けれど「秋国宗一」は既に転居したあとだった。しじみ漁師・大森充(35)の協力のもと、「秋国宗一」探しを続けるのだった。充はかつて、神楽の担い手として活動していたが、周囲の出雲に対する想いとの相違に、憤りを隠せない。真紀は出雲で充と過ごす時間の中で、自分のなかの何かが変わっていくのを感じていた。それは充もまた同じだった。そんな頃、東京に居る婚約者・和典は真紀と「秋国宗一」を繋ぐ手紙を見つける。花火大会の夜、それぞれの縁(えにし)がつながって行く。やがて、真紀は白無垢姿で嫁入りをする。そこには、あの人が・・・。
