This release documents a club performance in Denver, captured just three weeks before the “Islands” lineup dissolved. The atmosphere is starkly different from a sterile radio room; the band plays in front of a raw, energetic crowd, delivering a heavy, gritty rock sound. The absolute highlights are rare live iterations of “Ladies of the Road” and “The Letters,” featuring Boz Burrell's raw, expressive vocals.

Description
[Machine Translation] King Crimson will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its debut in 2019, and this 50th anniversary project will introduce classic and rare recordings from The King Crimson Collector's Club, which has a vast collection of recordings from the band's debut in 1969 to the present day! The rare song ("The Letters") from the "Earthbound" tour in 1972 is recorded in stable sound quality! The darkest song on the "Islands" album ("The Letters"). It is a revision of a song that had been in the band's repertoire since their debut ("Drop In"). This song was rarely performed on the "Earthbound" tour because of its eerie lyrics, which sounded like a disgusting mistake. This is the first time it has been released on CD. Even in the Collector's Club archives, only three performances of The Letters exist: the two Denver dates and the unknown date of the first appearance in the "Sailor's Tales" box set. This is based on a cassette tape recording from the soundboard. It is drier than the Pittsburgh show, and the atmosphere of the venue is not so clear, but it is stable for this period.
