The mysterious and vivid reality of Murakami's works is beautifully visualized with his unique technique based on live-action photography and meticulous sound design. Haruki Murakami's unique motifs, such as the blind and the grasshopper, the giant worm, and the endless dark corridors, are recreated in a magic realistic worldview that could only be expressed through animation. The film depicts a story of three people who are stuck in their lives, wandering through distant memories and dreams, confronting themselves, and slowly liberating themselves. --The film takes place in Tokyo in 2011, immediately after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Kyoko, who had been watching the news on TV to watch the damage every second, disappears from Komura's life, leaving behind a letter. Stunned by his wife's sudden disappearance, Komura heads for Hokkaido to deliver a small box with unknown contents to his colleague's sister. One evening around the same time, Komura's colleague Katagiri returns home to find a two-meter tall giant "frog-kun" waiting for him.
