[Machine Translation] (100 years since the birth and 10 years since the death of director Anjay Wajda) Historically moving film by Polish master filmmaker Anjay Wajda! Director Anjay Wajda, known for Underground Tap ('57), Ashes and Diamonds ('58) and Katyn Forest ('07), depicts the life of Kolchak, one of the greatest humanitarians of the 20th century. The film depicts the bodies randomly lying on the roadside, the poor conditions of the ghetto, and the agony of starvation where not even a piece of bread is available. When the film was screened at the 43rd Cannes International Film Festival in 1990, the audience stood up in unison to express their admiration with thunderous applause. As Wajda himself said, "I put all of my talent and skills into 'Dr. Kolchak,'" and the film was a work of the utmost effort. The film was shot by Robby Mueller, a master cinematographer who worked on "Paris, Texas" ('84), other Wim Wenders and Jim Jarmusch films such as "Down by Law" ('86) and Lars von Trier's "Dancer in the Dark" ('00).
