Reckoning

[Machine Translation] This is the second solo album by Toby Hitchcock, a longtime vocalist in Jim Peatrick's band Pride of Lions, best known for their work with Survivor. In 2016, he released a live album "LIVE AT FRONTIERS XX ANNIVERSARY" (not released in Japan) under the name of "ALESSANDRO DEL VECCHIO AND FRIENDS...WITH TOBY HITCHCOCK", but it has been about 7 years since "Mercury's Down" (KICP-1583) since his last pure solo album. This is his first solo album since "Mercury's Down" (KICP-1583). With the cooperation of producer Daniel Flores, Frontiers Records has employed a number of melodic hard rock songwriters to compose the music for this album. The songs are more varied than on the previous album, and are composed to enhance the appeal of Toby Hitchcock's overwhelming vocal ability. The deep mid-bass, extended high notes, and vocal skill are outstanding among the artists of Frontiers Records, and can be fully appreciated on this album.

「サバイバー」の活動で知られる「ジム・ピートリック」によるバンド「プライド・オヴ・ライオンズ」で長きにわたりヴォーカリストとして在籍する「トビー・ヒッチコック」の2作目となるソロ・アルバム。2016年に「ALESSANDRO DEL VECCHIO AND FRIENDS ・・・WITH TOBY HITCHCOCK」名義でライヴ・アルバム『LIVE AT FRONTIERS XX ANNIVERSARY』(日本未発売)をリリースしているが、純粋なソロ・アルバムとしては『マーキュリーズ・ダウン』(KICP-1583)以来約7年半ぶり。本作ではプロデューサーの「ダニエル・フローレス」の協力の下、作曲にはFrontiers Recordsが誇るメロディアス・ハード・ロック職人とも呼べるソングライター陣を多数起用。前作以上にバラエティ豊かな、「トビー・ヒッチコック」の圧倒的な歌唱力をより魅力的に演出する楽曲で構成されている。深みのある中低音と伸びやかな高音、ヴォーカルの巧さはFrontiers Recordsのアーティストの中でも群を抜いており、本作はそれを余すところなく堪能できる。
