Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash Mechanic & World is a fantastic companion book for anyone who enjoyed the movie and wants to take a closer look at its incredible world and mechanical designs. The book is packed with beautiful artwork, detailed information about the Mobile Suits, characters, and setting, making it a very enjoyable read for any Gundam fan. One of the highlights is the amount of production material included. Seeing the mechanical designs and artwork in much greater detail really helps you appreciate the incredible work that went into the film. The interviews with the creators, including director Shukou Murase, are also a great addition and provide some interesting insight into the production and vision behind the movie. I especially enjoyed being able to examine details that can be difficult to appreciate during the film itself, particularly in some of the darker action sequences. The book gives you the opportunity to stop, look closely, and discover details you may have missed. It may not be an essential purchase for casual viewers, but for Gundam fans and collectors, this is a beautiful and worthwhile addition to the collection. A very well-presented book that makes me appreciate Hathaway’s Flash even more.
