It may not be as soft as the pricier items, I feel this brush is a good piece to start if you are interested in Japanese brushes. The hair length and density gives you a nice sheer veil, when it comes to loose powder. Also it is a good piece to get into brush care routine. In addition, the cute color is a plus.
While this brush isn't as soft as the grey squirrel hair Chikuhodo is famous for, it's still a fantastic buy (at a great price!). The hair is very firm, which is great for picking up pressed powders. I especially like this one for bronzer. I've had mine for about a year, and the hair does soften up considerably after a few washes. There was a tiny bit of dye bleed at first, but no shedding and it's kept its shape perfectly.
