Blackout in the Galaxy

It should be rated 10, but since the max is 5... It was about time that Wesugi would make a first solo album..I am really proud of him and this album, some of the songs are from al.ni.co but they are re-recorded and re-arranged..my fave of the album is PARADE...I hope to get a new album from him soon but this one really satisfated me =) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Show Wesugi has one of the better male vocals in the Japanese Pop/Rock scene. His work with Wands was excellent. With Blackout in the Galaxy, he steps out on his own and moves down a harder Rock path. Some tunes feature guitar work reminiscent of Pink Floyd (Amane), some Punk-ish style songs (Tough Luck) and some straight-forward Rock (Tonde Chire, the song closest in style to his Wands work - perhaps that's why it was chosen as the single). Unfortunately, there are just as many misses as hits and the wide variation in styles makes for an uneven feel to the album. Dont' get me wrong, there are some gems in here. You just have to dig through a fair amount of plain old Rock to get to them. Still, it's great to have Wesugi back making music. He's true to the rock genre, which is refreshing, and his voice is dead-on. I'll certainly purchase his next CD. And I recommend this one for those who like a more eclectic rock album as well as those who are true Wesugi fans.

It must be the best work done by Show Wesugi ever since his debut as "WANDS"! It is no doubt a wonderfulo ablum, Wesugi secessfully mixed rock and punk and gave us a brand new experience. For me, the best 3 songs in this ablum is none other than "Unkown", "so what" and "Parade". Wesugi gave a 1970's style in these three songs and had a outsiding western folk song's style. The second song "the sound of the rain" and the third song "the moon in the daytime" are also wonderful, esp. the latter one, it remixed the indian and traditional japanese yabuki music style.
