This Japanese blu-ray has the actual "Japanese Extended Version" of The Protector in remastered HD. And it looks and sounds very good! It appears to have been taken from a legit 35mm print scan. It has vertical Japanese subtitles. Also included are two LPCM tracks: English/Cantonese 2.0 and Japanese dub 2.0 The Japanese Extended version is basically an "extended version" of Jackie Chan's personal edit, and is roughly a few minutes longer than Jackie Chan's version as a result. Jackie Chan cut out many scenes that are actually included in this version. And because of this, some scenes have a unique Cantonese dub to them. The funeral scene is still missing. Also, for the Japanese version, it's completely dubbed in Cantonese for all scenes taking place in Hong Kong. However, it has a unique mix of the original English audio for all scenes taking place in the USA! Like most Japanese blu-rays, there are no English subs. But this is a MUST HAVE for all Jackie Chan fans!
