Unfortunately this long awaited reissue has been remastered with a significant boost in loudness level and lots of compression. I love the idea that Universal Japan is reissuing lots of titles otherwise impossible to get, but why do the japanese remastering engineers not preserve the original sound? Many of these reissues - unlike the original issues - are so loud and compressed that you get a headache listening to them!

[AOR誕生40周年記念 AOR CITY 1000] 元祖AORといわれるボズ・スキャッグス『シルク・ディグリーズ』発売40周年 ! 今なお人気が高い70～80年代のAOR作品をお求めやすい「千円」で発売 ! シリーズ監修はLight Mellowで知られる金澤寿和氏。大瀧詠一『A LONG VACATION』で知られるイラスト界の巨匠・永井博氏が本シリーズの共通アートワークを提供。 ◇哀愁のAORクラシック「ラストタイム・ラヴ(Goin' Down)」(全米17位/アダルトコンテンポラリー11位)を筆頭に日本人好みのメロディーが光る、泣きのブルー・アイド・ソウル～AOR傑作。1954年、セントルイス生まれのグレッグ・ギドリー(vo)は、70年代後半からソングライターとして頭角を現し、1982年に本作でデビューを果たす。レコーディングにはダン・ハフ(g)やTOTOのデヴィッド・ハンゲイト(b)、デヴィッド・サンボーン(sax)ら一流ミュージシャンが参加。期待された2ndアルバムはレコード会社間の契約トラブルにより、残念ながらお蔵入りしてしまった。ギドリーは2003年に自宅の火災で亡くなっている。 ◆期間生産限定盤 (2018年3月31日まで) / AOR誕生40周年記念 / ライナーノーツ / オリジナル発売日: 1982年
