Near Orouet [4K Restored Edition]

[Machine Translation] A landmark vacation film depicting the beauty of life! Director J. Rogier s second feature film is now available on Blu-ray in Japan for the first time in a 4K-restored edition! This is the second feature film by director Jacques Rogier known for works such as *Adieu, Philippine* (1962) and *The Castaways of Ile de la Tortue* (1976). Boredom and loneliness eventually set in. Divided into chapters by date, the film reflects the passing days like a diary. Film is life itself," says Jacques Rozier. This timeless masterpiece of the vacation film genre has finally been restored in 4K and brought back to life right here and now. In early September, Joel, who works in Paris, goes on vacation with his friend Karine to a seaside villa owned by their relative Caroline. One day, as the three women eating waffles and catching shrimp spent their time freely and undisturbed, Joel s boss, Gilbert, shows up, pretending it was a coincidence. In fact, Gilbert had secretly harbored feelings for Joel. The women decide to spend time with Gilbert, seeing it as a good way to pass the time. Then, while on the beach, they meet a young sailor, and Joel finds herself drawn to him [Bonus Features] / Short Film Blue Jeans" (2K Restored Version) Blue Jeans (1958 / France / Black and White / Runtime: approx. 24 min. / Original: Standard / Linear PCM / Audio: French (Mono 2ch.) / Subtitles: Japanese subtitles (Translated by Jiro Terao) / Director: Jacques Rozier; Screenplay: Jacques Rozier, Michel Ogro; Cinematography: Robert Jacquin) Director Rozier s second short film, which was entered in the 1958 Tours Short Film Festival and received high praise from Jean-Luc Godard.
