Pianist Wataru Sato, who is also the leader and melody maker of the up-and-coming piano instrumental band Gecko & Tokage Parade, has completed his second solo piano album. Like his previous album "midnight solitude", this album was produced and recorded entirely at his home. Although it is a simple piano solo album, the melancholy melodies and tones characteristic of Sato's work are even more evident in the music of Gecko & Tokage Parade. The technique he learned from Lubomyr Melnyk, the world's fastest minimalist pianist, the sensitivity he has cultivated across classical, jazz, and fusion styles, and the simple but beautiful melodies reminiscent of Nils Frahm and Olafur Arnolds, all contribute to the compositions of Gecko & Tokage Parade. This is a remarkable work by an up-and-coming pianist who plays a leading role in Japan's post-classical minimalism.
