This orchestra later developed into the Saito Kinen Orchestra, which continues to this day. 1984年9月、偉大な音楽教育者であった齋藤秀雄の没後10年を記念し、小澤征爾と秋山和慶の呼びかけで弟子達が集まり、メモリアル・コンサートが行われました。このオーケストラがのちにサイトウ・キネン・オーケストラに発展し、今日に至っています。サイトウ・キネン・オーケストラは小澤征爾の下、世界各国で高い評価を得て、今や世界中から名手達が集まるスーパー・ヴィルトゥオーゾ・オーケストラに・・・。このアルバムには、彼らのアルバムデビューとなったブラームスの交響曲第4番から、2006年のショスタコーヴィチまで、16曲を収録 (2枚組、録音: 1989-2006年)。 日本独自企画盤。
