Smetana: Ma Vlast

[Machine Translation] [Philips Super Best 100] The PHILIPS Super Best 100 covers the basic classical repertoire from Baroque to contemporary music, and includes masterpieces by PHILIPS' leading artists. Historical masterpieces are also included. Original jacket design. All with commentary (lyrics for vocal pieces are accompanied by bilingual lyrics). Total 100 pieces released! Smetana's masterpiece "My Homeland" is the pinnacle of his compositional career, in which he expressed the deepest emotions of human beings (ethnic groups) through the Czech rocky mountains and forests. This performance is one of the best recordings of this work by the master conductor Dorati, who had a special attachment to this work, conducting the prestigious Concertgebouw Orchestra in his last years. The overall scale is large, deeply sculpted, and naturalistic, and the character of each piece is clearly brought into relief. This is a moving performance that reminds us of Dorati's longevity.
