[永遠のサントラ BEST&MORE 999] ミシェル・ルグランの手掛けた映画音楽の中でも幻とされていた「太陽が知っている」(1968年)のオリジナル・サウンドトラックをはじめ、他2本の映画サントラ盤をマルチ・コンパイルした初出作品。1968年公開のジャック・ドレー監督による映画『太陽が知っている』のオリジナル・サウンドトラックに同じくジャック・ドレー監督による『水のなかの小さな太陽』(71年)、『パリからきた殺し屋』(72年)の2作品の楽曲を収録した作品集。収録曲の大半が初CD化で、とりわけ『太陽が知っている』はサントラLPが公開時、日本でのみ発売されたこともあり、ミシェル・ルグランのサントラとしてだけでなく、フランス映画のサントラ盤としても軽く10万を越すトップ・レア盤。本作品集では長らく行方不明だったマスターテープを発掘し、それらもとに、LP未収録の楽曲を加えた完全版として収録している。一部ノン・クレジットながらステファン・グラッペリやモーリス・ヴァンデール、クリスチャンヌ・ルグランら腕利きのジャズメンが大挙参加しているのも話題。
