Legendary rock band KISS celebrates the 50th anniversary of its landmark album "Rock And Roll Over" with a new box set. The release includes a brand-new mix by the album's original producer and engineer, Eddie Kramer, along with rare previously unreleased demos, live recordings, and a wide variety of collector's items.

One of the biggest highlights is the legendary shelved live recording from KISS's first-ever Japan tour, once planned for release under the title "Rock and Roll Party in Tokyo (Live in Japan 1977)". Nearly half a century later, the recordings have been revived and newly mixed by Eddie Kramer himself for inclusion in this box set.

Originally released in 1976, "Rock And Roll Over" is regarded as one of KISS's signature albums. For the recording, the band enlisted legendary producer and engineer Eddie Kramer, known for his work on "Alive!" as well as recordings by Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. By recording the band's live performances inside an empty theater, they created a unique studio album with the immediacy and ambience of a live performance.

The album reached No. 11 on the US Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and was officially certified Platinum by the RIAA. Two tracks from the album, "Calling Dr. Love" and "Hard Luck Woman", reached the Top 20 on the US singles chart. Returning to straightforward, honest, and uncompromising rock without unnecessary ornamentation, the album showcases KISS's outstanding songwriting and recording abilities and captures the band at one of its creative peaks.

The box set consists of four CDs plus a Blu-ray Audio disc, offering a wide range of listening experiences for the KISS Army. Previously unreleased recordings and alternate mixes are among its major attractions.

The set opens with the original 1976 stereo mix of the album, newly remastered by Bernie Grundman. Fans have also long awaited a new stereo mix that brings modern high-fidelity production to this timeless classic, and that has finally been realized here. Eddie Kramer has created a brand-new 2026 stereo mix of the album from the original analog multitrack tapes.

The release also unearths 22 previously unreleased demos, alternate mixes, and outtakes. Highlights include nine Gene Simmons demos that eventually developed into songs on the finished album, as well as the unfinished instrumental "Queen For A Day", which fans have long hoped to hear officially released.

Following the release of the album, KISS embarked on their first-ever Japan tour from March to April 1977. For this set, recordings have been selected from all four shows held at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo and newly mixed by Eddie Kramer from the original analog multitrack tapes that he recorded nearly 50 years ago.

A live album from this first Japan tour, originally announced in Japan under the title "Rock and Roll Party in Tokyo", was ultimately shelved as plans shifted toward the release of the classic "Alive II". "Alive II", released in October 1977, included some recordings from KISS's first Japan tour. Now, nearly half a century later, the long-shelved Japan live album project has been revived by Eddie Kramer and included in this box set.

The set also includes numerous "KISS Collector's Items". Among them is a 104-page hardcover book featuring previously unpublished and historically significant photographs, rare memorabilia images, and liner notes by KISS historian Ken Sharp, including new interviews with Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eddie Kramer, and Peter Criss. Other collectibles include a trading card set, poster, glossy photo prints, an album-cover mobile, a magnet set, enamel pins, and more.

Rounding out the box set is a Blu-ray Audio disc celebrating the 50th anniversary of "Rock And Roll Over". It includes new Dolby Atmos and 5.1-channel surround remixes of the original 1976 album mix created by David Frangioni, as well as Eddie Kramer's new 2026 album mix. High-resolution stereo versions of both mixes are also included for comparison listening.
