Filthy Lucre Live (30th Anniversary Edition) [SHM-CD] [Limited Edition]

This live album was recorded on June 23, 1996, when Johnny Rotten (John Lydon), Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock took the stage at Finsbury Park for a historic concert, and it is now reissued to mark the 30th anniversary of its original release. The set features signature songs from the classic album "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols," including "Anarchy in the U.K.," "Bodies," "God Save the Queen," "Holidays in the Sun," and "Pretty Vacant." Steve Jones (guitarist) says, "It was 20 years on from when we initially broke up in '78 and it was always a debate that the Pistols couldn't play. I think Filthy Lucre shows not only that we can play but we are a powerhouse. Long live rock 'n' roll." Paul Cook (drums) says, "It wasn't all about the 'filthy lucre' - that title was always ironic - it was about getting the original lineup behind Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols back together and showing what we could really do. It was the best." A 1976 headline in the Daily Express, "Punk? Call It Filthy Lucre," is the source of the name. This tour came about after the band, having abruptly split up during their 1978 US tour and played their final show at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom, reunited. The tour also saw the return of original Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, who had been replaced by the late Sid Vicious in 1977. Japanese edition only.
