CD Japan mentions that the cardboard sleeve versions of Bad Company's albums are based on the original UK jacket designs, so I may already have the answers to the 2 questions I have about these cardboard sleeve versions, but I would still appreciate it if someone would confirm for me if: (1) the photos featured inside the cardboard gatefold sleeve of their debut release were the same ones used in the original UK LP version; and (2) the "front-side" photo of the band featured in the inner jacket of "Straight Shooter" was the same one used in the original UK LP release. BTW, if you're looking for the definitive sounding version of Bad Company's debut release, I recommend getting the Audio Fidelity version which uses the original 1973 Swan Song session tapes. It sounds fantastic! Best of all, the AF version features some never heard before behind-the-scenes moments, including the mistake Ralphs makes at the start of "Rock Steady", the last-minute tune-up the band does before they launch into "The Way I Choose", and the "1-2-3-1-2-3-4" intro count for "Movin' On" (which sounds similar to the "1-2-1-2-3" intro count for "Can't Get Enough") and the "1-2-3-1-2-3" intro count for "Seagull".

Mr. E> I work for CDJapan and I spotted your comment and had our support team look into it. The manufacturer told us that both the exterior and interior of the cardboard sleeves are direct replicas of the original UK LP art. Therefore, the answer to your questions should be "Yes". Hope that helps!
Bob makes a big deal about the small sticker in the upper left-hand corner. But I have no problem with it. In fact, I think it enhances the LP cover. It's not blocking the band name or album title. Instead it's in a section of solid black. It's nicely reproduced and adds to the beauty of the cover. Oh ... and the music is excellent. I could have done without some of the tape hiss but that's in the original recording and to remove all hiss would denigrate the sound. For an example of a bad remastering, see Chrysalis' 25th Anniversary version of Jethro Tull's Aqualung. They used the "Prism Sound Noise Shaping System" and removed most of the highes along with the hiss.
