BEGINのボーカル比嘉栄昇が故郷石垣島で活動するために結成されたバンド。固定メンバーという形態ではなく島で暮らし、仕事の都合が付くメンバーが集まってライブを続けて行くという「ゆる～く」確かな信頼関係で結ばれた音楽集団。島の先人達が残してくれた「うた」から土地の音楽を学び受け継いで行きながら今の「うた」を新たに生み出す事が自分達の使命だと考えている。特に八重山独自のリズムの感じ方を「上げ拍子」と名付け探求中である。地元に誇りを持ち、その土地に似合う暮らしの中の「うた」を作り続ける事で、いつか日本中に同じ志を持った仲間が出来ると信じている。
