Description

[Machine Translation] A competition between two of the leading saxophonists of British modern jazz and hard bop. The British jazz scene has produced many greats, but Tubby Hayes and Ronnie Scott should not be forgotten as the leaders of modern jazz (hard bop). This album was recorded in London in 1958, during the heyday of hard bop, and the arrangements, which make effective use of the interplay between the two tenor saxophones, and the heated improvisations, are the very essence of 4-beat jazz. The combination is no less attractive than that of many two-tenor teams such as Sonny Stitt & Gene Ammons and Al Cohn & Zoot Sims. Recorded in London, 1958 Members: Tubby Hayes(ts), Ronnie Scott(ts), Terry Shannon(p), Jeff Clyne(b), Bill Eyden(ds)

Note: This is an import edition (manufactured outside of Japan).

Tubby Hayes(ts), Ronnie Scott(ts), Terry Shannon(p), Jeff Clyne(b), Bill Eyden(ds)
