"Call Me by Your Name" Original Soundtrack [Blu-spec CD2]Original SoundtrackA Sonic summer of first loveThis Blu-spec CD2 edition elevates an already flawless soundtrack to new heights. The lush piano, Sufjan Stevens’ haunting originals, and the delicate classical pieces now sound incredibly rich and detailed. Every track perfectly captures the bittersweet heat of an Italian summer and the ache of first romance. A must-own for anyone who fell in love with this film’s soul.

Star Wars / The Empire Strikes Back (Original Soundtrack) [Limited Release]Original Soundtrack (Music by John Williams)Excellent reissueA high-quality double-LP reissue from Disney pressed on translucent red vinyl. This comes with an obi strip and the sleeve printed with the vintage Japanese "The Empire Strikes Back" artwork. The records have polypropylene-lined paper sleeves, but there are no vintage inserts included here: just a small handbill for a survey contest from Disney. This is a great collectible.

TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)Nine Inch NailsAnother fantastic Tron SoundtrackJust like with Daft Punk before, on the Iron: Legacy soundtrack, NIN overshadows the disappointing movie with an amazing soundtrack. As much as I love Daft Punk's Iron score from a several years ago, this one by NIN is better. I put this on while I work and there are several times where I'll do some serious chair dancing as NIN pounds out some slamming tracks. Plus, the limited edition packaging was really cool. The packaging is a throwback to floppy disk packaging from the 1980s... just perfect. The only thing that could've made this better is if the CD had been in the SHM-CD format, but this still sounds great. Disney should just keep hiring great electronic/industrial artists to keep making scores for Tron movies that don't exist, since the soundtracks have outshined the last two movies.

Hikaru Kimi e - Original Soundtrack Vol.1 [Blu-spec CD2]TV Original Soundtrack (Music by Yumi Tono)Best Soundtrack of 2024Yumi Tono's incredible score for the 2024 Taiga Drama Hikaru Kimi E is easily my nomination for best soundtrack of the year. This first volume contains many of the most lyrical and romantic passages Tono composed for the series, and will appeal to anyone looking for classic orchestral music written for film/TV that emphasises seriousness, beauty and heartfelt melodic writing. It's an absolute knockout. The Taiga dramas always have notable scores, and Tono has just exploded with this one. I was lucky to also get the 7-disc special edition through CD Japan. If you can find that, definitely grab it. It's stupendous. If not, then the three standard volumes are still must-haves.

Sukeban-Deka Last MemorialTV Original SoundtrackA MUST HAVE OF JPOP !!!I don't know the "Sukeban Deka" series but this album is simply a wonderful discovery! I have rarely heard such a level of artistic quality. Everything is excellent: the songs, the voices of the young girls (but they are absolutely sublime!), the musicians, the work in the studio, we are faced with incredible perfection. Many people could be inspired by it... To get without delay!

"GHOSTBUSTERS" Original Score [Japan Bonus Track] [Blu-spec CD2]Elmer BernsteinThe Ghostbusters scoreThis hi-fidelity Blu-spec CD2 contains the motion picture score for the original Ghostbusters movie by Elmer Bernstein. I've always liked this score, it sounds like an old fashioned scary movie from the 1950s with a small hint of comedy attached to it. It's a perfect fit for the movie. I also find this music is perfect to play during Halloween season and in Fall in general, it really sets a nice vibe. Plus, this Japanese edition contains the end credits as a bonus track!

Suzume no TojimariOriginal Soundtrack (Music by RADWIMPS / Kazuma Jinnouchi)Unforgettable tunesOne of the key aspects of the movie was the music abd here we have it, it's beautiful and enchanting.

Confidenza [UHQCD]Original Soundtrack (Music by Thom Yorke)Everything Thom produces is goldI like the cardboard packaging in general, but print quality could be better on this release. Regarding music - it is delicate and anxious and beautiful, more avant-garde comparing to Suspiria, with a significant jazz influence. Thom is very prolific right now and in a good shape.

"Godzilla Minus One (Godzilla-1.0)" (Movie) Original SoundtrackOriginal Soundtrack (Music by Naoki Sato)MagnificentIt is very rare that a soundtrack album can stand alone as it's very own masterpiece, "Godzilla Minus One" is just one of those rarities. A thumping score that can tell the story of "Godzilla" without the need for visuals, a sonic treat writ large by the very talented Naoki Sato. Magnificent.

Plane Original SoundtrackOriginal Soundtrack (Music by Marco Beltrami, Marcus Trumpp)Very thrilling and melodicThe movie is not that good as the soundtrack to it. The score is very thrilling and melodic. If you like Marco Beltrami’s works, this is definitely for you. Btw: he took some pieces from Steve Jablonsky’s Skyscraper and Zimmer’s Inception.

"Segodon (TV Drama)" Original Soundtrack II (Music by Harumi Fuuki)Tatsuya Shimono (con), NHK Symphony Orchestra, Anna Sato, Sarah Alainn, Dai Hirai, Minami Kizuki,Yosuke Yamashita, et al.Magpie music (mix of styles)Excellent TV drama soundtrack series from Harumi Fuuki continues. Vol 2 is even better, with a stronger mix of styles. More compositions inspired by traditional Japanese music too, which to my ignorant ears sounds fresh and exciting. With albums like this, where I haven't seen the show the music was written for, the score is left to conjure images and ideas on its own. I have no idea what Segodon is about, but I like to imagine it's a Butterfly Effect-type story about a foolish time traveler who finds himself back in various eras of Japan's history, meeting historical figures and mucking up the timeline, then coming back to present day Japan to see how history has been altered.
