Pick Up Review

Crimson's most baroque and complex jazz-rock effort receives a massive audiophile upgrade. The mastering masterfully separates the chaotic polyphony of woodwinds, jagged keyboard motifs, and Jon Anderson’s guest vocals on “Prince Rupert Awakes.” It completely untangles the historically dense and challenging mix.

Documenting the American tour of the short-lived Boz Burrell, Mel Collins, and Ian Wallace lineup, this release was historically notorious for its lo-fi, "garage-band" sound quality. However, the Japanese mastering works wonders here, shaping that raw, distorted cassette source into a cohesive, ferocious wall of sound. The dirty, blues-rock engine of “21st Century Schizoid Man” and the manic funk jamming on “Groon” sound incredibly visceral on this disc, perfectly capturing the primal chaos of a band breaking apart at the seams.

The Son of the Sun album has a unique style, a dynamic and energetic melody, and a positive and sunny lyrics. The sound quality is clear and carefully produced, and each song can bring different listening experience, which is worth collecting by music lovers.

The overall quality of the Mojiezuo album is excellent. The music style is a combination of pop and classical elements, and Jay Chou's unique singing voice is full of charm. The album cover is beautifully designed and the lyrics are full of poetry, which is a classic worth collecting.

This is real Kiss. Recorded when they were unbeatable and before R&R excess habits crept in. High energy rock and roll as it should be. An essential purchase.

Macross: Do You Remember Love? is a true classic of anime, and this new 4K remaster gives the film the treatment it deserves. The image looks beautiful, with a level of detail, color, and clarity that brings the incredible hand-drawn animation back to life while still preserving the original film look. The space battles, mecha, and concert sequences are especially impressive in 4K. It is also great to have both the original 1984 theatrical version and the 2016 complete version included in the release. The soundtrack remains one of the movie’s greatest strengths, perfectly complementing its spectacular visuals and emotional moments. After more than 40 years, Do You Remember Love? still feels remarkably beautiful and ambitious. This 4K edition is a fantastic way to rediscover a legendary anime film and an essential release for any Macross fan or collector of classic animation.

Gundam: The Origin V is one of the most intense and dramatic parts of the series. The story continues to delve deeper into the characters and, especially, into Char’s transformation into the character we all know. The animation is spectacular, the battles have real weight, and the atmosphere perfectly captures the darker and more political side of the Gundam universe. The pacing may feel a little slow at times, but the character development and the growing tension make it completely worthwhile. An essential entry for Gundam fans and an excellent setup for what is yet to come.

Gundam: The Origin IV continues to raise the bar for the series with an increasingly intense and dramatic story. This installment stands out especially for Char’s development and for the way it connects the events that will eventually lead to the beginning of the One Year War. The animation is once again spectacular, with beautifully crafted battles and great attention to detail and atmosphere. The best thing about this movie is its balance between action, politics, and character development. Some moments may require a little patience, but the tension gradually builds until it reaches a truly exciting final act. An excellent installment that continues to show why The Origin is one of the best ways to experience the Gundam universe.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash Mechanic & World is a fantastic companion book for anyone who enjoyed the movie and wants to take a closer look at its incredible world and mechanical designs. The book is packed with beautiful artwork, detailed information about the Mobile Suits, characters, and setting, making it a very enjoyable read for any Gundam fan. One of the highlights is the amount of production material included. Seeing the mechanical designs and artwork in much greater detail really helps you appreciate the incredible work that went into the film. The interviews with the creators, including director Shukou Murase, are also a great addition and provide some interesting insight into the production and vision behind the movie. I especially enjoyed being able to examine details that can be difficult to appreciate during the film itself, particularly in some of the darker action sequences. The book gives you the opportunity to stop, look closely, and discover details you may have missed. It may not be an essential purchase for casual viewers, but for Gundam fans and collectors, this is a beautiful and worthwhile addition to the collection. A very well-presented book that makes me appreciate Hathaway’s Flash even more.
